The north of Perth is a place particularly known for its
pretty wildflowers spring. It devotes much for us, it's spring!. Examples of landscapes crossed en route to Perth. We were all excited to leave the desert and the red dust to reach the green so that by entering the Kalbarri
National Park we dropped
it. The first attraction of this park is made up of different grooves in which one can walk. We are starting to have seen a lot of walking and gorge so we thought it was time to go and touch the ocean and go surfing for the first time of travel.
Luckily, arriving at the tourist town of Kalbarri, the surf beat the odds with strength and seeing that, my heart has started beating
was strong enough. Karo comes out the little book precious surf spots that Priscilla and Stephen gave me for my birthday and she guides me to point Jakes. Come take a look okay? (Karo says it's on I want to see this too, too bad it means more full of beautiful little surfers to admire) One of the finest surf spots on the West Coast was in full swing and
surfers were virtually absent! Only 5-8 guys with water (and many others in the parking lot, mmmmmmm). The
waves were big enough thank you! (And very interesting to watch surfers) tubes of over 2 meters high! (They are unfortunately all these surfers the wetsuit) After some hesitation, I convinced myself that I am brave (some hesitation! It took him almost an hour to convince watching the ocean). I put the
wetsuit and hop in the water brewing. At worst, I'll just watch I tell myself (oh, too bad I look, worry). Finally, after almost 30 minutes of observation of these monsters (I think it speaks of the waves, surfers probably not), I'm starting. I swim as fast as possible, I'm on top of the wave, I looked down and I see that before me, yaa little close to 1 foot thick water on the reef at the bottom of the wave! AAAGH! Quickly the brakes! But they are crazy surfers! On one side they risk being crushed on the flat rocks, and another perfect surfing on a good length ... They are so good that I have no chance of catching the waves of Outside
then I have no choice, that's where it happens. I re-test and the guys guide me a little over a smaller wave to finally embark on it with a level of adrenaline crazy enough for me thank you! (Bad me crazy fan on the side
army of the camera) I am a mini attempt to get up but without success, and quickly decided to stay on my belly in the pipe (see photo), it was magical! My first wave Australian, in a tube and more. Later I had other but it remains very difficult for my class of intermediate surfer (they recommended this spot to surf experts only). The
days after, nothing. The swell was parti.Snif! Yet so I was on a high! Karo on his side was his photographer and my faith, it took a pretty good picture! Until the next swell, it was a little renovation (after so much time in the desert, Gertrude also entitled to a bit of attention
) was walking along the ocean in the National Park Kalbarri and we met three guys with whom it was not bad tripe in water (and who is lucky this time accompanied by 3 guys for her all alone. I think it beats the duo of Gab Ningaloo National Park. Qn'en tell you girls?). One of them, we see again, has 3 speargun (harpoon), machinery to kill fish. I am officially one (I'll avoid
mention a certain incident in a store a harpoon, hen Gab!). Given the lack of swell, we went to the water to feed
of the ocean. It was fabulous to snorkel with the gun in hand! Hey, a big fish that happens! Mmmmm it looks good it's ... Briefly, the three guys came out with 5 big fish and Karo and I have kept two and we had enough meat to share and eat for almost two weeks! Our freezer being small enough, we had no choice but to change our diet to prioritize fish. It's hard life (as Julie would say, thinking has Oli). Due to the chore ASSIGNED to dining, Karo was out of all revenue from its directory category fish (I can tell you that
fish, I love e
as much worse than I seriously have the omega-3 for the next 5 years)
Unfortunately, we decided to leave because we wanted to work in Perth and already a weeks had passed without any announcement or surfing. In addition, it is once gone, it was recalled that there was climbing in the gorges of Kalbarri you had talks with Stephen ... It is stupid, it is not gone. Let's see if we can not go back.
The road to Geraldton. Return to dry landscapes to landscapes and then flowered. We visited some surfing but still nothing (no swell). The landscape of Geraldton would change dramatically with relatively enormous dunes in the city and lots of wind. They could not resist
and we Resort the board (it ended up being very helpful this board has tite $ 16). It is a place known for windsurfing (we think of you Phil), kite (we think of you Pascal) because of the quality and consistency of the wind. In fact, there is so much wind
been some species of trees grow literally at ground level! We visited a church that took like 20 years or more to construct (and it has nothing to do with AC
we can see in Europe, but hey it was added) and otherwise the city does Another big attraction was not the harbor, the lobster industry, and full of shops tank, boat, 4WD and any other toy that involves burning gas. It makes us not to leave a crease.
Latest 400Km we had left to go to Perth were again very dry with little unique plants (they wind
ent to have a variety of unique plants in the world in this land ) and the specific formation of Pinnacles. The Pinnacles, these are rocks that look like termite mounds in the middle of sand dunes that are explained by a series of erosion, sediment deposition, solidification of sediments eventually erode again ... It is nevertheless a funny sort of scene.
Walking in there is like walking through a cemetery UFO or something like
ca. It's a little freaky. We realized it before sunrise to take beautiful pictures with shadows created by the rocks. In
addition, it was all alone and there was peace! Just off the park to 7h30AM was across a few cars. As you also see in the picture, there are more dunes in this corner (apparently they are formed by high winds in the area and ocean currents and still today, they move). They are especially beautiful with their white sand that has tried to illustrate. Because of the winds, too, have seen a lot of wind turbines (we still think of you dear Pascal. You could have the job here for your idea of wind turbines maintains ...)
Finally Perth. the isolated city of Australia. It's weird to do that after several thousand miles away. The skyscrapers seem artificial but on imposing. The city is now filled with cranes and construction sites
because apparently that just about 40 000 people moving per annum. There is surfing, but not impressive. Spots of beach breaks which provide ample demand in the city nearby. Just this morning I went out to water and the crowd ranged from 5 to 10 people even if the waves were small.
We visited the Maritime Museum in Fremantle (a city suburb of Perth) and they expose the
one of the first boats reached Australia there are over 300 years ca. The boat called Batavia ran aground on a coral near the coast and it became a story for almost cannibalistic survival
while most of the sailors have managed to s'achapper on an island made entirely of sand . The relief took months to arrive after a boat (constructed from pieces of big boat) has managed to reach the authorities of what I remember most countries ... Anyways, was quite impressive to see these pieces of the boat back was the time when there was no sign of electricity, oil, welding machines, etc.. To get this wood in the museum, it's been through many complicated steps for ultra-wood does not react badly to air and it will not fall apart. AC itself was just as facinating. I took a photo to illustrate the size of your boat. The small lower left corner was the rest at the bottom of the water and presented to the museum
Recently, we stayed in town a lot to do intensive research for the job. I succeeded after 10 days I get hired for what will be our next
livelihood by an engineering company and I will still design in civil engineering. Of details will come. Karo as she has received a contract via e-mail that it was not signed because it is not very enchanted by what she should do. She waits before signing it because she has an interview next Tuesday for the same coy than I do the same thing she did in Montreal, from AutoCad drawing for the structure of buildings. We wish him good luck. I have rarely seen Karo also stressed. She says she has to sleep in misery, she has a lump in my chest and to put in the package, because we stress it is looking for a place to sleep. It was visited two apartments yesterday and there were waiting lists of 7-8 people, or the first arriving took the contract. We'll have to elbow greenhouse! At least it is not too bad Gerty took our van. Spot is changed regularly to avoid problems. We had a complaint a night because it was parked in front of people who liked to see the van parked there for two days. It's weird but it is seen here as a bit of luxury without shelter. Was anxious to find a place to live, to take a hot shower whenever you want, to be more than a few feet from each other, not
have problems finding a place to sleeping, kitchen with oven and full of stuff we take for Aquis since we were little. It's gonna be awesome!
Here is a small part of a peuvre art we saw that tile. Pretty impressive!
Perth is really good. A nice little downtown that overlooks a beautiful river, the ocean nearby, has the outback door commoditees and all of a city. Unfortunately, there are not tons of climbing. It will run a lot to reach spots (sorry we still lack the advantage of having escalating Kalbarri ...)
