Lots Of Discharge 5 Dpo

The arrival of Jean-Hugues and Karine

Following our short trip to Dunedin, I had to shoulder the rest, the surf being demanding. We learned the exact date that John Hughes and Karine would happen and it was possible to travel to Christchurch to go welcome them. Ye! Other quebecois! We met from time to time but not as many cool and even less like them! Anyways, the road to Chch can be fairly straight but we thought the winding roads would be much more fun so we headed to the New Zealand Alps and Mount Cook, the highest peak of N. - Z.

This involved traversing a valley known for fruit growing and vineyards. Given the season, time reaps apples. The grapes will be ready in the month of April and will ceuillette for a month. Karo and I want to change our work Mtl and work of our hands. What we wanted most to do is pick the grapes for the production of fine wines (and also refine our taste this delectable product ...). After stopping in several small kiosks has fruit we had several telephone numbers and apples seem to be the best timing for us then we will work to collect apples from mid-March until mid-April ( for my birthday). It's probably not what pays the most but we will do more for the experience. More details will come.

Mount Cook. WOW! It is downhill! Glaciers all around, avalanches several times a day. When we arrived in the vicinity, it was hot. It merits more than ever it melts. Glaciers disappear still has here the. It's gonna be too sad if it keeps disappearing AC as we left (with global warming). Take advantage of it while there are still ... Relatively easy walking in this area we had been recommended by Priscilla and Stephen and leads us to a ridge and provides incredible views of 270 degrees on the mountains creates a bit like the Rocky Mountains were created, ie an oceanic plate which enters colliding with New Zealand and sinks below the country's growing on the mountains.

The mueller hut reached, slept and relaxed for the wake up with a blanket of snow all around 4cm. Ye! Snow! You people in Quebec, we know you're tired but for me it was like a tite joy to play it. I take this opportunity to create two snowmen and pellets in all the large terrace you have sympatie others Qc .. (Actually it was more because I like that play with the snow).

Just before leaving this beautiful scenery, we had a pleasant meeting. Quebecers living in a Village Mount Cook working as a guide Seamanship was so happy to meet quebecois, she invited us aboard his small boat for a tour of small glacial lake in front of the Tasman Glacier. We had a historic right of glaciers in the region, being caught between icebergs, with the wind, we had moved in circling ... 10minutes later, we managed to leave larger iceberg that were dropping huge chunks of rock from the sun that melted the ice beneath them. Too cool!

The road to Christchurch was not completed. It would pass (or divert our path) for a walk classic that is deemed by climbers to the cliffs rather unique style: the Mount Somers . A formation of igneous rocks in hexagonal columns FORMED magma crystallizes quietly beneath the surface and, over time, was subsequently exposed to erosion. It was after 3 hours of steep walking, a pognage nerves, walking in a creek bed and again a steep slope that could eventually reach the walls of Orange Wall. J'vous said I made a nice living on my poor little Karo. What she would not do for me ... I wonder. I still tried to help by having a backpack 2 times the weight of own (ok, even when she had a sprained ankle). The escalation was pretty scary and intimidating. It's been a while since I did not spot many little nuts. Mini plugs, small cracks, mini feet were at the rendezvous. Pleasant here, the unpleasant. Ways of 38m high next to each other. And presto, back to Christchurch.

Finally, the arrival of Jean-Hugues and Karine has not passed without problems. Their luggage had been lost for 4 days in Los Angeles and their new toy, a high-performance computer assumes, was not working. I think it was by the cons perfect place for this kind of problem happening to them. Our guests christchurchois We have made life easy all with a car, shelter, shower and toilet. What's more we really need? Well, a little worse bloc quebecois our two forget their worries.

It was 8am tape drive last Saturday and 3am Sunday to climb the small blocks or small walls and a Duntroon Castle Hill . They will begin to make me love AC block. It's so much fun in a gang so we decided to pick 10 people and full of mattresses (crash pad) to try lots of ways harder each other. I managed my first V6 Castle Hill! And I almost chained a beautiful V5 has Duntroon. Not bad for a trad climber. Karo, she managed a problem V2! She begins to have a higher back muscle, it hounds and she succeeded. Phew quantity of orgeil there in there!

Soon: Road to the West Coast for a second time.

How Many Wireless Can A Modem Handle

where was I? Ah yes, the Cadbury Factory. Today it is raining then it is a good time to recap the last time. At last update, I forgot to mention some past events with Marie-Andree. They are:

we went to see "Yellow eyed penguins" in their natural state. Apparently that's the kind of Penguins rarest on the planet. They leave the water at the approach of the night to feed their young at this time of the year. They are so funny to see it work. It's like walk without knees worse for us instead of the arm, palms. Sounds cool! And we, he is asked to stay away from the beach so as not to frighten them so small shelters were built for tourists like us. Here's an example with Karo and Mary full compliance.

It was observed also quite petrified forest in southern South Island. A petrified forest, what is it? It is an ancient forest which, with geological events, has disappeared rapidly under the sea level and has been subsequently buried by sediments. The very well preserved under water, the wood was converted into silica (as quartz) and the sediments are also ties between them. Finally, another geological event has raised the rock containing the trees and the erosion presented in the light of day. It's pretty amazing to see AC in his eyes.

has also been seeing quite Blocks individuals whose training is rather unexplained: the Moeraki Boulders. Have almost spherical balls which are formed a bit like beads but in a horizon of sediments (mudstone). This horizon is now exposed to the sea and the remaining blocks in the sand while the horizon is slowly erode. Basically, it's curious too bad it's beautiful ... c'ta can close everything.

The trip of Mary, as I said in the preceding update, ended at Dunedin. She continues her path to the North Island to see the attractions that I think we have not seen (traditional food, entertainment and dancing in Rotorua Maori, etc.).. Good early work Mary! I hope it will not be too rough ...

Dunedin for us, we like. There's good surfing and climbing nearby. Well, Karo is a little bored when I surf, but she manages to find something else to bizouner, has read or otherwise. She practices her photograph. From my side, I improve my surfing but unfortunately my right shoulder so it hurts me I gotta go molo. I think it's time I consult a phisio, ergo or qqun which ca. People we met here, I am often the oldest! And I only have 29! Oh boy, it's hard life eh! He! He!

We finally left Dunedin for a climb that I wished to do absolutely in NZ: Mt Aspiring. Fairly technical mountain, its summit with 3033m sharp enough and parking is a +-400m elevation. With quebecois I met along the way (Pascal) and three of his friends who also wanted to climb this mountain, it was expected round trip in 4 days. The approach in a valley, was walking with the cows and sheep for a few hours to spend the night under a large rock along a river (if there was a heavy rain, the water we would pass on it). Karo followed us with his usual fitness. I did not want it too we follow for subsequent days by cons being given his fear of heights and predicting locations exposed ...

Places exposed with the added bonus a little rain was the result of events during the morning of the second day. It was finally cleared just in time or we had the first view of the top of the mountain ... WOW! It was intimidating! The potato has started to pump just to watch the way they were going to achieve it. The path that was chosen was not the classical nor the easiest. It was on one side not often climbed desssus located in a glacier to add to the scene. The approach march was BEGINS at 3:30 AM the third day and navigation through the various crevices went extremely well. When we finally got to see the day we realized we were lucky because the path we chose was in fact the only possible path and that by jumping over a few cracks which one of +-2m wide and who knows the depth! Phew! it gives a good feeling ca. The guys I was with were french and had a lot more experience than me and then they Pascal etaitent front. It's always special to follow traces to see it stop in front of the crack and continue after. Well, you my Crank Gab, it's your turn!

The ascent of the face itself went well despite some blocks crumbling beneath our feet. It was difficult to make a judicious choice of decision was taken because the consequences can be catastrophic for the partners and also the lowest for a fall is imminent. In many places, the rocks were extremely lousse and it must be extra careful. With only three quick draws and some trad protection, it was necessary to manage equipment. It was an easy way to climb (about 5.6 or 14 AUS) but became a bit more complicated with plastic shells leased in the feet. The summit

11am, beer in hand, to celebrate a must! But it was not finished because descent was exposed a few places. It has returned to the Hut 3h30PM to recover our energy. What beautiful scenery surrounded us with the perfect blue sky and visibility to Mount Cook a few more 100Km far away. Magic too! It would take too long to put all my photos on the blog but here's some anyway. A tit

sleep under the beautiful star and a view of the sunset.

The next day was painful painful boots with a walk that was the flattest of the journey ... descent. Pumped quadriceps, sore knees ... time to spoil a Wanaka, the nearest town! Goodbye finally Karo was also too good because she had left us with a sprained ankle and all worried whether she would find are way. She had waited all this time the parking lot to write, read, relax, swim, improve the van, etc..

Basically, if you're interested, I highly recommend the Mt Aspiring ascenle!

It is now back in Dunedin for more surfing. In fact yesterday there was a big swell and I managed to catch a monster wave too good!

We think of you all and see you soon!
